Abstract

Moulds.-A series or battery of monlds for concrete blocks is built up of a number of end pieces F, clamped between side plates B, C by revoluble locking-bars P, which rest in slots in extensions c of the side plates and are formed with cranked ends adapted to engage with cam-pieces O. The moulds shown are each adapted to form two L-shaped blocks, a partition H being inserted into slits in the ends F. Projections L form grooves in the ends of the blocks for the reception of bonding material. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the blocks are formed face downwards; the side plates B are L-shaped, and the mould is completed by a board T held against the upstanding portions of the sides by means of clamps U, so that when the blocks are set it may be slid along for use with the adjacent moulds. Moulds for making hollow blocks are also described in which cores are detachably supported in recesses in the base-plate J. The blocks may be faced with finer material by using partition plates.
