Sewing-machines; work supports.-A device for holding a section of work to be darned or embroidered comprises a stretching-frame 1, an elastic band 9 for clamping the work, and fingers 8 for embracing the loose part of the work. The fingers are pivoted in sockets 6 in lugs 5 and, when closed, their ends bear upon the spring 9 and keep it in position. The spring 9 lies in a channel 3, 4, of the frame 1, and is preferably of diameter greater than the width of the channel.
