Cooling air; cooling water.-In apparatus for cooling air or water, air is forced by a fan C through a chamber B, within which revolves a drum D consisting of a helically-wound corrugated metal sheet which dips into the water tank A. The sheet may be wound around a drum e, and strips or plain sheets may be inserted between the folds to prevent one corrugation from closing into another. The sheet may be perforated.
