Abstract
20,488. White, J. Sept. 28. Carburetting.-Air is drawn into a gas holder by hanging on weights at A and opening a cock C in the pipe B. When the holder is full, the cock C is closed and the weights removed. On opening a second cock D, the air is forced through a cylinder containing a spiral wire surrounded by absorbent material saturated with an inflammable oil or spirit. The air may be drawn through this cylinder in the first instance, in which case a double carburetting effect is obtained.
