Abstract
4799. McDonough, T. Aug. 22, 1908, [Convention date.] Void. [Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Drying wool.-The wool is fed by an endless feeding-apron 64 through rollers 65 to a hot-air upcast 66. The wool is then carried upwards through an opening 69 leading into the top of the drying-chamber and falls on the first of a series of overlapping travelling aprons 70. From the other end of the apron the wool falls on a high-speed beating-fan 71 before passing on to the next apron and so on. The spaces between the aprons preferably increase downwards to allow for expansion of the wool, which is finally delivered through an opening 73. Inclined shelves may replace the aprons.
