Abstract
4751. Elliott, G., and Oxley & Sons, G. Feb. 26. [Addition to 4607/08.] Roller-and-ring mills.-In a roller-and-ring mill of the type described in the parent Specification, the material passing under each roller F is lifted up to a sieve 0 and plates P, P' by number of ridges V on the inner surface A' of the ring A situated at the exit side of each roller. The material is delivered into a collecting-frame U, U<1>, fixea to the upper end of the sieve O and plates P, P. The capacity of the frame may be varied by securing the flanged portion of the plate U<1> in any desired position between the end plates U by means of bolts engaging a radial slot U<3> The material may be deflected on to the ridges V by the inclined edges of scrapers situated behind the rollers F. The sieve 0 and the plates P, P' may be vibrated transversely by the engagement of cam-projections on the roller shaft with stops on the sieve or plates. Springs may be employed to move the sieve &c. in one direction.
