Abstract
27,935. Forsyth, L. Dec. 23. Roller and -ring mills.-The annular track A is supported on and driven by frictional contact with two or more external rolls B, C having flanges B<1>, C' to prevent lateral movement of the track. The rolls B, C are mounted upon shafts carried by spring-pressed plummer blocks B<3>, C<3> adapted to slide in radial slots in housings separate from and exterior to the main housing of the mill. The crushing-rolls F are mounted on shafts F<1> carried in plummer blocks F<2> sliding in radial slots in the housing plates and thrust outwards by springs F<3> acting between blocks F<4> and yokes F<5> adjustably carried upon stirrup bolts F<6>, which pass through the blocks and carry yokes F' engaging the inner ends of the plummer blocks F'. The rolls Fare of less width than the track A and engage different parts of its surface. Inwardly-projecting flanges G on the track prevent a too rapid discharge of the material being ground. The casing H is made in halves, and the material is fed by a bifurcated hopper J and discharged through an aperture in the base D'.
