Abstract

22,323. Wright, W. W. Oct. 10. Roller-and-ring mills.-A portable ore-crushing mill of the type in which a roller of large diameter rotates against an annular casing comprises a belt-driven casing A mounted on rollers on shafts C and containing a roll U mounted on a shaft M eccentric to the casing, the line joining the centres of the roll and casing being inclined to the vertical at about forty-five degrees. The sides of the casing are bellied outwards, and provided with renewable liners J. Springs P and screws Q are provided for taking up wear. Ore and water are supplied to the casing at one side, and a discharge-opening I is formed at the other side. Mercury may be placed in the bottom of the casing, where heavy crushed ore may subside and be amalgamated.
