Abstract

1208. Hõuser, R. Jan. 18. Track apparatus for stopping trains.-A pivoted frame 4, operated by a rope attached to the semaphore signal, is mounted on a shaft parallel to the rails, and presents a double-inclined surface 5 to the frame 10 pivoted on the locomotive. The front of the frame is wide enough to extend across the track. The brake valves are actuated by the rear end 11 of the frame which compresses the spring 13 by which the frame is restored to normal position. The brakes are also applied in the case of a derailment.
