Abstract

27,123. Claviez, E. Dec. 14. Yarns and threads; carding-engines.-A fleece of textile fibres is combined with paper, composed of wood cellulose or the like, preferably during the manufacture of the paper web, to form a material which can be cut loto strips nnd twisted into yarn. The fleece of cotton, wool, linen, jute, or the like is prepared in a carding-engine a, Fig. 1, and is delivered down a conveyer b through drawing- rollers h on to the wire-cloth c of the papermachine. The n -ece can be added to the paper at any part of the machine previous to the drying- cylinder, or it can be combined with the finished paper, the paper and fleece being moistened. The .'. amount of the fleece delivered to the paper web can be regulated by the drawing-roller h to equalize the difference of speed between the carding-machine and the paper-machine. The strips of material are twisted so that the textile fibres are on the outside of the yarn.
