Abstract

Primary batteries.-Phloridzin is added to the ingredients of the positive element, the element or any of its ingredients being preferably moistened with an alcoholic solution of phloridzin, to which may be added an aqueous solution of the chlorides of ammonium and zinc or barium. The phloridzin prevents liberation of gases and enable the battery to be recharged by continuous current when exhausted.
