Electrodes. - Manganese dioxide mixed with oxide of mercury and graphite is used as a depolarizer, in an alkaline electrolyte such as caustic soda or potash, opposed to zinc. 20 per cent of red mercuric oxide may be used, and the cell may be wet or dry. Low internal resistance is obtained.
