Abstract
23,756. Slatter, G. Nov. 6. Fastenings, clip. A clip for fastening trees to walls &c. comprises a metal strip folded upon itself and provided with a slot or recesses at one end and a tongue or side tabs at the other. The strip shown in Fig. 3 is made with a slot a, tongue b, and two nail holes c. It is folded upon itself until the holes c coincide so that a fastening-nail can be driven through the two thicknesses. A suspending- wire or flexible fastening may be passed through an eye formed between the holes c. The tongue b is passed round the tree and through the slot a, and is fastened by bending it back. The strip shown in Fig. 4 has recesses e, g and tabs f, h, and is fastened by folding the tabs round the necks between the recesses. There may be tabs f at one end and a number of recesses g at the other so that the clip may be used for trees of different sizes. The strips are rounded at the edges to prevent injury to the trees.
