Abstract

22,791. Holland, E. A. Oct. 27. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Keyless mechanism.-A wheel 4, which is always in gear with the stem-pinion 15, is supported so that it can move more laterally in order to gear with either the winding-wheel 3 or the hand-setting wheel 2. When the stem 1 is pushed in the wheel 4 is kept in gear with the wheel 3 by a spring 8 acting on the arbor 7. When the stem is pulled outwards, an elbow lever 11, the bent end 13 of which engages with a groove in the stem, is moved, and its other end shifts the wheel 4 to the hand-setting position. In each of the two positions of the lever 11, a pin carried by it takes into a corresponding hole 23 in the spring tongues 22 of the plate 10, the tongue thus acting as a detent. A spring 20, which bears near its end against the screw 19, acts as a non-return pawl on the mainspring wheel 3.
