Making buckets and hollow - ware; rolling.- Ears for buckets and other hollow-ware vessels are first stamped out of a flat sheet of metal partly to shape, and the hole to receive the handle is then punched in. The blank is next heated and passed through rolls as shown in Fig. 7, whereby the flap is spread to shape and size as shown in Fig. 3<D>. It is then stamped in a press so as to crank it, Fig. 4D, and to make it concave to fit the bucket ; finally the rivet-boles for securing to the bucket are pierced.
