Abstract
19,873. Bruce, D. R. Sept. 22. [Cognate Application No. 1872, A.D. 1909, dated Jan. 26.] Couplings.-A connector for cables &c. consists of a tubular member, of hard metal such as steel or iron, with tapered unsplit ends b and external screw-threads a, on which are screwed nuts c with internal conical surfaces e, which compress the ends b on to the cables &c. to be connected. A hexagonal portion i is provided so that the connector may be held while the nuts are being tightened. According to the Provisional Specification, No. 1872, A.D. 1909, the connector is formed with one end tapered, the other end having an internal screw-thread.
