Abstract

19,042. Archer, C. F. Sept. 10. Toothed gearing.-Relates to reducing-gearing, suitable for electric motors, of the class in which a toothed annulus is driven differentially from an eccentric through a pair of planet-wheels, one of which meshes with a stationary annulus. These planet-wheels 5, 6 fastened together are mounted on ball &c. bearings 4 upon an eccentric 2 secured to the driving-shaft 1. The wheel 5 rolls round upon a fixed annulus 9 so that the wheel 6 imparts a relatively slow movement to an annulus 10 secured to the driven shaft 12. The annulus 10 is formed with an enveloping housing 13, and the annulus 9 is formed with a sleeve 15. Ball bearings are arranged as shown. In an alternative arrangement, the fixed annulus is formed with a housing which envelops the driven annulus. Specification No. 15,734, A.D. 1884, is referred to.
