15,681. Nicolas, A. July 23. Springs.-Relates to a spring member applied to a wheel and adapted to compress, on extension or contraction, an elastic cushion formed of a hollow india rubber cylinder. A tube 3, Fig. 2, is pivoted to the rim and fitted with a flanged member supporting a plate 13. A rod 8 is pivoted near the hub and carries at its extremity a projection 10 passing through slots in the tube 3 and bearing on a plate 12. The cushion is fitted between the plates and an adjusting-member 11 is screwed on the rod. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the plates 12, 13 slide on rods 14 screwed to a short member 3. Adjusting-nuts 15 are fitted.
