Concretes.-Artificial stone is manufactured by stirring a mixture of 3-6 parts fine sand, 3-6 parts pebbles, 5-8 parts cinders, and 1-1¢ parts Portland cement to a thick paste with a mixture of milk of lime, of about 20 per cent strength, and 10 per cent of calcium-chloride solution containing 100-150 grammes per litre. The paste thus formed is moulded and dried in the air.
