Abstract

12,762. Zeiss, C. Nov. 4, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. [Patent of Addition to No. 6041, A.D. 1907.] Telescopes.-In panoramic sighting telescopes of the kind described in Specification No. 6041, A.D. 1907, and having three directions of sight, any one of which may be used by adjusting the position of a prism, the prism b is rotatable about its own axis of emergence and is held by a spring catch f in either one of three positions mutually at rightangles. In the position shown in Fig. 1, the line of vision is directed ahead by a fixed double-reflecting prism a arranged vertically below, or above, the prism b, but in either of the positions shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2, the line of vision is directed backwards to the left or right. In a modification shown in Fig. 3, a reflecting-prism k is combined with the ocular d<1>, d<2> so that the optical axis is deflected upwards. For complete erection of the image in all three positions, the movable prism b of the first construction or the fixed prism a' of the second construction is a single-reflecting ridge prism.
