Control Of Motors That Do Not Use Commutators
(AREA)
Abstract
10,121. Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges. Sept. 30, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Motor control systems.-Consists in an improvement in regulating alternating-current commutator machines as described in Specification No. 7293, A.D. 1903, [Abridgment Class Dynamo-electric generators &c.], in which the ratio of the transformer which excites the series windings is varied. By the present invention, at high speeds the ratio is raised to such a degree that the working potential of the motor may be lowered. The transformer t<2>, which feeds the exciting-winding e, is connected in series with the working-winding s. The secondary side of the ma.n transformer t' is tapped to switches i, h, g, k, l, and the switching is successively effected as follows :-k, g; k, i ; L, g ; l, i; and l h. Hence, at the transition from the fourth step to the fifth, the ratio of the transformer t<2> is raised, while the total secondary potential of the transformer t<1> is diminished.
