Spokes.-In wheels of the kind in which oppositely-arranged spokes, such as 3, 4, are connected to fixed and sliding hub-parts 8, 10 for tightening purposes, the spokes are set by being adjusted into an outwardly-bent form so as to give resilience. The outer ends of the spokes are fixed by transverse bolts 5 in pockets 2 in a T-section rim 1. The inner ends are clamped between rings 11<x> and flanges on the axle-box and a sliding sleeve 9. This sleeve is adjusted by means of bolts 12 passing through central lugs 12 .
