8890. Polyak, L. April 23. Neck-ties &c.-The body of a neck-tie is made up over a plate a, Fig. 1, and the free ends are clipped below to the same plate. As shown in Fig. 2, the clip is formed by bending back the lower end in the shape of the figure 8, and serrating the meeting surfaces. It may also be constituted by a second similar plate or a skeleton a<1>, Fig. 6, or a smaller plate a', Fig. 7, eccentrically hinged to the plate a so as to snap on the tie end when closed up. The plates a, a<1> may have a lug e, Fig. 4<a>, at right-angles, with a depression f for engaging with the collar stud. Where there is a second plate hinged to the plate a, the free end of the neck-tie is passed, before clipping, through a slot h between the plates.
