Necktie retainers; clip fastenings.-A combined tie - clip and shirt-front fastener is formed of a metal plate or strip a, Figs.1 and 2, to lugs b on which are pivoted clips c, e with serrated gripping-edges g. The clips are controlled by coiled springs on their pivots, or preferably by the turned-over edges f of the strip a, which also serve to retain them in the open position. The clip e grips the inner edge of the shirt front, and the clip c the outer edge and the tie. In a modification, the clip c is made shorter than the other e and is provided with an ornamental stud bead. In a second modification, Fig. 4, the clips i, j are pivoted to the turned-over ends k<1> of the strip k.
