Abstract

5456. Blackshaw, T. W. March 11. Bakers' ovens.-In an oven comprising superposed chambers with steam-tubes arranged therein and a furnace beneath, the steam-tubes g are arranged transversely and are embedded in the bottom of the lowermost chamber and inclined upwards from the middle towards the sides. The furnace a is arranged at the front of the oven, as shown, and the gases pass up a flue b, through a flue k in the roof of the upper chamber i, and thence to the chimney. The steam-tubes as used hitherto in the uppermost chamber may be dispensed with, but in the lowermost chamber and in the intermediate chamber, if any, ordinary longitudinal tubes m are employed.
