5084. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. April 8, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Gas and like engines, valve gear for. A valve E is operated once during each revolution of an eccentric J by a cam-surface g<2> on an oscillating lever G, which is worked from the eccentric. The valve is operated while the centre i<1> of the eccentric sheave traverses an arc o p, and in order that the valve may not be operated during the return of the cam while the point i<1> traverses the arc q r, the pivot pin g<3> of the lever G is mounted eccentrically in disks n<1> which are oscillated by a forked lever N worked from an eccentric L, 90 degrees in advance of the eccentric J. The gear is shown applied to the inlet valve of a four-stroke-cycle internal - combustion engine, the eccentrics being mounted on a half-speed shaft. In a two-strokecycle engine or a steam-engine, the eccentrics may be on the crank-shaft.
