Abstract
3574. Stanworth, W. T. Feb. 17. Signals, flag; signals, indicator or visible.-Signals N, Fig. 1, are displayed on a frame D which can be turned to face in any desired direction. The frame D may be pivotally hung from a supporting-frame lashed to two of the bridge stanchions of a ship, or from a stay A carried by two masts, the latter arrangement being provided with a lower support E and a disk M with holes through which a bolt can be dropped to fix the frame in any position. The signals N, which are preferably metallic and may carry letters or code symbols, are connected to one another by hooks and are suspended from a halyard K which passes over a pulley carried by the top pivot-bolt of the frame D. The back of the signals are formed with lugs N<1> which slide up on to the side bars of the frame D, as shown in Fig. 4.
