Abstract

3359. Marshall, H. J. Feb. 14. Lubricating.-In thrashing - machines, the shoe and shaker cranks are continuously lubricated by constructing in the lower part of each crank-bearing an oil-well b, from which oil is splashed on to the crank-pin through openings c, and returns to the well through passages d. A threaded opening g receives an oil-cup, and an opening e receives a plug or tap for drawing off waste oil. An additional filling-opening for the well b may be provided.
