Rail joints.-The rail ends are cut away on a vertical centre line to form a lap joint, and oblique lugs 5, and openings 6 for opposite lugs, are provided on the cut face of the web, which is extended at 8 to fit a recess formed on the web of the adjacent rail. A bolt through the lug 8 secures the rail ends.
