1433. Seavey, H. R. Jan. 21. Number-plates.-A support for number and like plates for motor vehicles &c. comprises a detachable banger B, adapted to maintain a fixed relation to its support and to be adjustably secured to the vehicle, and provided with a lining d to prevent the plate X from rattling. The lining is prolonged to form a strap D, Fig. 2, which is passed round a bar of the vehicle and secured by a nut E, bolt F, and plate G overlapping the end of the strap. A series of holes d<11> are provided on the strap to suit various sizes of bars. In a modification, shown in Fig. 8, the hanger is directly bolted to the vehicle. The plate or washer G closes the opening of the hanger and prevents the plate from jumping off.
