Abstract
1347. Parkes, W. E., and Parkes, J. H. Jan. 20. Casement fasteners.-The parts of a casement or other fastener are made separate. The arm A carries a boss a' squared at a<2>, rounded at a<3> reduced in diameter at a<4>, and provided with a head a<5>. A button B having a keyway b<1> fits at right-angles to the arm A on the squared part a<2>, and the part a<3> is mounted in a bearing c<1> in a plate C, which is provided with countersunk screw holes c<2> and a projection c<3> for fitting into a recess d<3> in an underplate D. The head a<5> is then passed through a hole d' in the under-plate D, and the plates are slid over one another so that a slot d<2> engages behind the head a<5>, and the projection c<3> engages the recess d<3>. The screw holes c<2>, d' then coincide, and screws passed through them secure the fastening to the casement &c.
