Gas fires; heat-radiators.-Gras-fire dog-grates and other gas-fire grates are provided with fireclay receptacles for the gas-heated cobbles, which comprise a base a, sides b, and a back c at about the centre of which is a baffle or flange d. The baffle, which serves to throw the heat forward, is narrowed at both ends where it joins the sides b. A preferably semicircular slot e is provided in the base beneath which the gas jets are fitted, and the part a<X> may be grooved. The grate fits into recessed portions on the front of the apparatus.
