Abstract
23,213. Clarkson, T. Oct. 21. Water-tube boilers; feed-water, supplying and heating; superheaters, steam.-In a steam generator of the type in which series of U-tubes B project radially from a central cylindrical' chamber A, the steam-pipe E, the feed-pipe G, and the steam connexion J<1> of the gauge J, enter the generator above the top of its casing D, and are carried by a thick flange A<2> formed on the upper part of the cylindrical chamber, thus facilitating the removal of the generator from its casing. The rods C which support the generator upon the top of its casing are also secured to the flange A'. The rings of tubes are so arranged that the tubes of any one ring do not overlap the tubes of an adjacdnt ring. The feed-pipe G extends downwards inside the chamber to a perforated socket H projecting from the bottom of the chamber. The steam-pipe E is turned upward inside the domed cover as shown. Coiled tubes K forming a wall, around the burner or other source of beat serve as a superheater. Feed-heating coils G<2> may be placed around the upper part of the generator.
