Lathes. - Multispindle metalworking machines, particularly screw machines,have the turret carrying rotating work spindles and the tool slide mounted so that one is supported upon the other in such manner as to permit relative movement. The turret 47, Fig. 3, carries the rotating work spindles 59, in flanges 46, and has an axial extension 48 supporting the tool slide 52. This, in the arrangement shown in Fig. 4, is of polygonal form and is provided with an arm 56 which engages a guide-bar 55, supported from the machine frame, to prevent the tool-holder from rotating with the turret. The arm is slotted at 57 and is adjustable at 58 to compensate for wear. A bowl carried by the slide engages a cam drum for feed in the ordinary manner.
