Filing papers &c.-A loose-leaf binder of the type described in Specification No. 27,379, A.D. 1904, consists of covers 1, preferably chambered, pivoted to clamping-bars 2 which contain keyoperated screw shafts 9 carrying nuts 10 to which the binding-cords 6 are attached. The clamping- bars are provided with transverse slots 13 to receive hinge members 12 attached to the covers, so that the clamping-bars and covers may move independently of each other in the opening or closing of the book. In a modification only one shaft 9 is used, the binding-cord being looped through one of the clamping-bars.
