Filing papers &c. -A loose-leaf binder suitable for the formation of ledgers, philatelic albums, &c. consists of two separate covers a, b, Fig. 3, the lower cover b being provided with a stiff back part b<1> having a turned - up portion b<2> and provided with pins c, on to which the separate sheets of paper are placed after having been suitably perforated. Also projecting from the back part b<1>, there are provided two or more pillars d, in which are inserted screws d<1>, each having a reduced part or neck s. The sheets of paper are suitably slotted to provide space for the pillars d. The top cover has a stiff back part a' having a turned-down portion a<2>, the parts a<2>, b<2> sliding over each other, as shown. The part a' is provided with pins e, Fig. 2, which either enter other perforations in the loose leaves or telescope within the pins c. A sliding locking-plate g provided with slots with which the necks s of the screws d' engage is located beneath the back part a<1>, so that, by moving the plate g by means of a key or projecting end stud, the covers may be held together or released. As the volume increases or decreases in thickness, the screws d<1> are adjusted, the lock-nuts d<2> are screwed down on to the tops of the pillars d, and the cover applied.
