Abstract
21,617. Plath, G. April 13, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Direct gas - pressure apparatus.-In a single - chamber apparatus for raising liquids by means of compressed air or the like, of the type described in Specification No. 18,885, A.D. 1901, the liquid enters the single chamber a by pipes c, c1, until it lifts the float valve e1from its cup-shaped seat on the end of the compressed-air or like pipe h2. The valve e1 at the same time closes the exhaust pipe k. The liquid in the chamber a is then forced through the pipes b, b1, the valve e rising to close the pipe c. After the liquid has been discharged, the valves e1, e drop back and the cycle is reproduced. In a modification, the pipe c1 leads directly into the chamber a. The cock i is always kept closed, the object of providing it being merely to have the valve parts on each side of the apparatus interchangeable.
