Building-blocks. - A chimney of reinforced concrete is built up of annular or polygonal reinforced concrete blocks a with hooked ends b loosely surrounding vertical rods d, spaces c being left around the rods, and between adjacent blocks, which are afterwards filled in with concrete. Rods f, in grooves e, and hooks i are embedded in the horizontal joints g to tie the structure.
