Abstract

13,696. K³ppers Metallwerke Ges. June 13, 1906, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Soldering.-Aluminium or aluminium alloy surfaces to be soldered are cleaned by scraping and coated with a flux consisting of a pure stearine mixed with ammonia water. Rosemary oil, ether oil, or other like substances may also be added. To prepare the flux, 60 parts by weight of stearine are melted and 30 to 40 parts of ammonia water are gradually stirred in. The fluxed surfaces are then coated with a copper-tin solder, and are placed in contact and then heated. The solder may be finely powdered and mixed with the flux.
