Abstract
13,231. Gauer, P. Aug. 22, 1906, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Revolving - cylinder pumps. - A pump having revolving cylinders with reciprocating pistons has the joint between the member 3 and the cap 12 provided with the inlet and outlet ports made tight by pressure of liquid from the outlet port 14 acting between a diaphragm 27 and the cap 12. The member 3 is eccentric to the casing 1, and has three cylinders in which pistons are reciprocated by rollers thereon engaging guides 9, 10. Each cylinder is connected to an axial passage 15, 16, 17 serving to connect it with the inlet and outlet openings 13, 14 in the cap 12 as the member 3 rotates. A small channel 25 from the outlet 14 leads pressure fluid to the chamber 26 formed by the end of the cap 12 and the diaphragm 27 carried by the screw 24 in the casing 1 of the pump. This pressure keeps the cap 12 up against the part 3 ; both of these parts are preferably conical in shape.
