Abstract

8151. Rawlings, J. J., and Smith, R. T. April 8. Lamp brackets.- Electric lamps with shades and reflectors are supported by ball-and-socket joints G, D, on angular limbs of teepieces A, which may be made in halves by stamping and may form jointing- boxes for the tubes enclosing the wires. The ball G, which carries a nipple H for attaching the lampholder &c., may be clamped in any position by a ring nut F, either embracing the ball as shown or tightening a loose ring on the ball. Alternatively, a split socket may embrace about two-thirds of the ball and be gripped on the ball by a ring nut. The invention is applicable to the lighting of shop windows or pictures.
