Abstract

7986. Lake, H. H., [American Safety Razor Co.]. April 5. Razors, safety. The holder is made of one piece of sheet metal bent into the form of a reversed S. The top member 6, Fig. 2, forms a holding spring. The front portion 7 of the flat part 5 is slotted to form guardteeth, and the handle is attached to the bottom part 2. Projections 11 are struck up from the part 5, and a shoulder 12 near the rear edge of the blade abuts against these when the blade is in position. The blade is held away from the guardteeth by a ridge 9. The blade comprises a thin metal strip sharpened at one edge, the back being embraced by a U-shaped stiffening-piece which forms the shoulder 12. The blade is pushed into position endways under the spring 6.
