Abstract

7836. Joseph, E. L., and Ozonair, Ltd. April 3. Gases and vapours, treating electrically.-Relates to the apparatus for ozonizing air described in Specification No. 4548, .A.D. 1903, [Abridgment Class Non - metallic elements]. The electrodes, which comprise a dielectric plate with a sheet of metal gauze on each side, preferably arranged so that a margin is left round the dielectric plate, are further provided with metal grids, such as 4, preferably of aluminium. The grids on opposite sides of the electrodes are pressed together and serve to keep the gauze sheets flat, in addition to conducting and distributing the current to them. The electrode panels, usually arranged parallel to the direction of the air current, may be supported in their framework in the manner shown in Fig. 2, in which the grids on one side of the electrodes fit into recesses on fixed blocks 8, 9, the grids on the opposite faces fitting into recesses on blocks 13 pressed forward by strong leaf springs 14 15. The grids are provided with terminals 6 connected to double terminals 22, 23, which are connected to the bus-bars 18, 19 preferably by plug connexions.
