5400. Calvert, G. March 6. Incandescent gas &c. lamps.-Corrugated closed-ended mantles are shaped by moulds before incineration. In one form of the invention, the impregnated mantle-fabric C, Fig: 4, is corrugated by placing it while moist over the wire frame B and then pressing over it the frame A, Fig. 6, which is of smaller diameter than the frame B. The fabric is allowed to dry and set while in the moulding-contrivance, which may be provided with a heating-device. The corrugations are lapped evenly and in one direction round the burner rings, which may be specially shaped, and the mantles are then incinerated and prepared for transportation.
