2022. Br³stle, G. Jan. 26. Handles.-The sprigs d of a broom are fixed to the handle b by arms e, which are pivoted to the handle-socket a at g and have points f engaging with the broom sprigs. The arms e are kept in a closed position by a chain h, one end of which is fixed to an arm e while the other end is hung on a hook k on the arm e. A ring i may be fixed to the end of the chain h for facilitating the handling of same. The handle-socket a has a plate which may be provided with a rim c; a ring may be used in place of the chain h.
