Spring wheels. - In a wheel of the kind having spring spokes arranged to bend transversely to the plane of the wheel, pairs of spokes are connected transversely by leaf springs or togglelevers, which are attached to radial sliding rods resting upon spiral springs in the hub. In the form shown in the Figure, the rim d is in sections, each supported by a pair of spokes c connected by leaf springs f to a rod g bearing against a spring h in the hub. A continuous tyre surrounds the sections. In a modification, the rim is continuons and the leaf springs are replaced by toggle-levers, so that the spokes straighten in use and a suspension wheel is produced.
