Governing; reversing, adapting valve-g e a r f o r.- In a rolling-mill or other r reversing steamengine, in which the throttle valve is operated from the reversing- lever, toggle mechanism is used for moving the throttle valve. A rod Q<8>, which is connected with the reversing- lever through suitable linkage, is jointed to a lever mounted on a spindle T<9> carrying one lever T<8> of a toggle mechanism, the other lever T<7> being pivoted to the cross-head T<6> of the throttle valve. The spindle T<9> carries a quadrant having a notch to engage with a roller on a weighted lever T<15> when the valve is closed.
