Wheels with two or more rims side by side.-To prevent side-slipping by maintaining rolling contact, subsidiary wheels are mounted on the same axle as the driving-wheels and arranged to bear part of the load while remaining free to revolve. Fig. 1 shows an arrangement in which the extra wheel a is mounted beside the driving-wheel b, the sprocket-wheel c and brake drum d being connected to the latter only. In modifications, the additional wheel is mounted on the hub of the driving-wheel as in Fig. 4.
