Abstract
18,545. Waller, F. M. Sept. 4. [Cognate Application No. 3839, A.D. 1909, dated Feb. 16.] S lip p i n g, preventing, attachnaents to wheels for. -Arms C are pivoted to the strap of an eccentric B, which is mounted on the hub A and is adjusted by a lever G through gear-wheels D, D', E, E' so that the arms project through holes in the rim at any desired position relative to the road. The gear-wheel D is secured to the eccentric and the wheels E, E<1> are secured to a transverse axle F carried by the spokes, while the gear-wheel D<1> is loose on the hub A or the axle X and is locked in any desired position by a quadrant rack and pawl. The strap of the eccentric is provided with roller bearings b. The strap is prevented from moving relatively to the wheel by a stop-ring H concentric with the wheel, which engages in slots in the arms C and prevents the arms from being withdrawn from the holes in the wheel rim.
