Abstract
5956. Maxwell, R. I. March 12. Bottles, non-refillable.-The bottle is provided - with a neck A, Figs. 1 and 4, constructed with longitudinal ribs B, which form channels C for the outward passage of the liquid. At the lower end of the neck is ground a seat D for a ball valve E. The valve is adapted to be pressed on its seat by a plunger O, which screws into an internal projection N of a cap G. This cap is provided with internal spring lugs H, which spring into an annular groove in the exterior of the neck and lock the cap in position. By rotation of the cap G, the plunger O, the end O<1> of which is so shaped that the plunger cannot be rotated, is lowered on to the ball E to fix the valve in position, or raised away from it in order to allow the ball to move off its seat. The cap G is formed with holes in positions corresponding to the channels C. The plunger 0 is screwed down on to the valve before transportation, so as to prevent the liquid from passing into the neck.
